Lake Santa Caterina di Auronzo di Cadore

Lake Santa Caterina is a must see tourist attraction where to spend a peaceful and healthy day. The river Ansiei flows into the lake, which was created in the 30s after the construction of the dam Santa Caterina, situated at the beginning of the town.
In summer you can sunbathe on the shore and swim in the near swimming pool. With a pleasant walk around the lake you have also the opportunity to admire the beauty of the surrounding mountains, in particular the inimitable Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Lavaredo’s Three Peaks).
The Lake is easily reachable directly from the downtown, or from Residence Al Lago!
Many footpaths wind along the shore of the Lake, they offer everyone the possibility to have long relaxing walks and to stop in the various equipped areas where there are benches and fountains in order to enjoy the wonderful panorama.
A very long bike path which begins near the dam and arrives at the end of the valley, beyond the ski slopes, coasting the Lake and the river has been recently created.
