The authentic gastronomy of this area is rustic and characterized by simple indigenous products like corn, barley, potatoes, beans ,game, tasty mountain cheeses and cold cuts.
In Auronzo and along the way to Misurina there are many restaurants where to taste traditional skillfully prepared dishes, which can also be tried in the unique atmosphere of our mountain dews, agritourisms and malghe (alpine summer houses) surrounded by the wonderful peaks of the Dolomites.
Here you can find the famous “gnocchi” (potato dumplings) or house-made” canederli” (Knödel, bread dumplings) , sausages or melted cheese served with mushrooms and “polenta” (cornmeal porridge, mush) and the very tasty dishes characterized by the strong flavor of roe or deer. To successfully complete your meal there’s the possibility to eat a local dessert with a shot glass of “grappa”, a very strong, clear spirit distilled from different kinds of local herbs.
In Auronzo, even in the neighbourhood of our Residence, there are various restaurants where you can choose between classical or mountain menus, or pizzerias and other pubs to eat a fast meal in order to immerse yourself again as soon as possible in the relaxing atmosphere.
